Hispanic leaders in Dallas are pushing strongly to have Ross Avenue renamed for César Chávez, and I, for one, support their efforts.
Without Chávez’s landmark efforts, migrant farm work wouldn’t be the high-paying, comfortable, cushy, fast-track job it is today.
(I wonder what Hispanic leaders say when they’re reminded that Chávez was strongly opposed to illegal immigration?)
