Friday Roundup: Tyler Durden’s Night Job, Breaking News at CBS 11, the Epic Failout, Monkey Waiters & More

  • This was among the top four stories on CBS 11’s newscast last night. Slow news season, I guess. Top notch, Ginger.
  • Here’s a shocker: The [EPIC FAILOUT] has “encouraged lenders to hold off dealing with their bad debt in hopes of getting a better deal from the Treasury…”
  • LA Times blogger Elizabeth Snead turns to this cover of Newsweek with Sarah Palin clearly and properly porting a broken (open) shotgun and asks condescendingly, “Hey, is that even the right way to hold a rifle? Can’t you shoot your foot off like that?” The beat down commences, and the flood of comments alone is worth the price of clicking the link.
  • My attorney Robert Guest reminds us that, just like police, when CPS workers show up at your door, they’re not there to do you any good. Never let them in without a warrant/court order, and always call your lawyer.
  • And finally, your Friday Moment of Zen: Monkey waiters. Monkey. Waiters. I suggest the restaurant’s motto be “Our food untouched by human hands.”

I think I see the beginnings of a typical ‘humor’ book with a compilation of all of the comments from the Newsweek Palin rag. It’s rather disturbing the amount of rage spewed out there. I bet they all have rifles,…er, …shotguns…or …guns. Whatever. Have a great weekend.

  2. Rawlins Gilliland says:

The LAST Alaska King Crab thing I would ever doubt is that Sarah Palin is a creditable (and probably impressive) shootist and by-the-book responsible gun sportsperson, a talented respector of firearms.

The FIRST Alaska Leaping Salmon thing I would question is whether that is relevant.

The MIDDLE Eskimos-in-thongs thing I would wonder is: Why is Jewel still singing?

  3. Robert Guest says:

Thanks for the link. It’s important for Texans to know that the government doesn’t ever ask to search a car/home to help you. It is because they have decided you are guilty.

Great recommendation on the Palin Newsweek cover blog post. Beat down indeed. Carlos at 1040 on 10/11 had a good comment:
“If a liberal is so dumb for mistaking a shotgun for a rifle, how stupid are conservatives for stating the same fact 50 times over because they can’t be bothered to read previous comments?”
