Tuesday Roundup: ASSMAN, Anti-Swinger Jihad, Minorities Sue DISD, Obama Misfires, Smoking Nazis

  • The City of Duncanville continues their jihad on the consenting behavior of adults engaged in unapproved activities. Notice hardly a word of skepticism about the city’s claims from the reporter parroting the city’s charges. I mean, 300 bottles of booze and porn playing on vid screens. Hope they don’t raid Casa de Garrison.
  • That $1.35 billion bond the Dallas ISD passed earlier this year is being held up by a lawsuit from minority groups who think DISD shortchanges minority students and ignores the concerns of black parents. Hard to fault the plaintiffs, given minority graduation rates and GPAs. Still it looks like cutting off their noses, as the cliche goes.
  • The Obamessiah Obama campaign has a new ad out claiming he supports gun rights. Stated: “Barack Obama supports gun rights.” The problem? As my buddy Jacob Sullum shows, it’s just not true. (Not that McCain is much better; he supported the 1994 Clinton “Assault Weapon” ban and wanted it renewed.)
  • Seig Health! Look, a business has every right to enforce its rules on its own property. But come on — there is absolutely no health risk from walking by a smoker forced outside by no-smoking policies on your way into a building. Grow a pair, people.

    This line…

“believes that the amount of revenue generated by the business is far greater than that represented by the donation forms.”

Reminds me of a recent story on some local douchebags that were sent a $320,000 tax bill because of, I kid you not, exaggerations on Myspace.
