Friday Roundup: Just a Billion Dollar Shortfall, Mandit Strikes, Another False Rape Conviction & More

  • The proposed Trinity River Tollway is having a, um, slight funding problem. Seems they’re just a, ah, wee shy on the cash. By about, er, ONE BILLION DOLLARS. (Is anyone in government using…I mean, is that even a real number?)
  • Apparently Dallas County doesn’t have a monopoly on wrongful rape convictions. This is not surprising, given what we’re learning about how Keystone Kops most crime labs are. Wonder why I’ve abandoned support of the death penalty? There you go.

    Its a lot easier to run White House press releases than it is to report the actual facts. Just further proof that the press for the most part is in the bag with this President.

    I am so weary of the panic on this spending package. There is nothing in it that will lead to the kind of job creation that they are talking about. Obama’s panic statements are pure politics, nothing more.
