- With any luck for the taxpayers of Dallas, the city’s rush to get the $550 million taxpayer-financed convention center hotel will be slowed enough by what looks like incompetence so that voters will get a say in the scheduled May referendum. You know, the one the city wants to ignore. Or at least, get Uncle Sucker to pay. (So much for Mr. Obama’s “new era of responsibility.”)

- Texas, you’ve disappointed me. We scored abysmalsome on the Brady Campaign to Ban Firearms’ ranking — earning 9 points out of 100 possible. If we work at it, we can bring that down to a solid zero. (California is No. 1 with 79 points, the Okies scored a liberty lovin’ 2.)
