- Dallas City Council to Voters: Kiss It. Kiss it good.
- This is the kind of commitment to principled conviction we’ve come to expect from establishment Republicans: “I’m against the stimulus. Now where’s my money?”
- I’m not saying it’s not odd to have a 22-year-old in a class with 13-year-olds. Clearly it is. But why the reflex assumption that an adult in a classroom with teenagers is automatically creepy? Seems an unwarranted swipe at DISD.
- Hero North Texas pilot Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger didn’t get all God-dy enough for this guy. Should he have mentioned that God sent those birds into the plane’s engines? Ugh.
- Could it be that people aren’t “cowards” but rather that they just don’t care to engage in tired old discussions about something that just doesn’t matter?
- What exactly is smart about pumping air into a deflating bubble, rewarding the irresponsible, and punishing people who bought homes within their means and who make their payments on time?
This statement from Holder is pretty frightening
“Even when people mix at the workplace or after-work social events, Holder argued, many Americans in their free time are still segregated inside what he called “race-protected cocoons.”
“Saturdays and Sundays, America in the year 2009 does not in some ways differ significantly from the country that existed almost 50 years ago. This is truly sad,” said Holder.”

it tells me that he is way too focused on race issues and sees that boogie man hiding behind every tree. it sounds like the government will soon be telling us that our friends must be in the same proportion as the US population.
Lessee, on weekends, I’m usually at local pagan events, camping, or doing yard work. I really don’t see many opportunities to interact with the mainstream black community in that list.
And as for why God wasn’t mentioned as being in the cockpit, well, since 9/11, only certified and authorized flight crew members are allowed in the cockpit while the plane is in flight. Until God presents his required FAA certifications, he has to stay in the cabin with the rest of us.
So God flies the planes? Is this where we should direct our outrage next time we’re delayed?
