State Rep. Betty Brown, R-Terrell, during testimony in Austin on voter identification legislation said Asian-descent voters should adopt names that are — in her sage words — “easier for Americans to deal with.”
It gets better. Brown defended her remarks. No, really.
Can’t you see that this is something that would make it a lot easier for you and the people who are poll workers if you could adopt a name just for identification purposes that’s easier for Americans to deal with?
Because apparently, even though to vote you have to be an American citizen, Asian people aren’t.
I’m guessing she doesn’t go to Schlitterbahn much.
You are my hero.
Reminds me of when 3rd generation American skater Kristie Yamaguchi was in the Olympics 1992(?) and winning the gold. Watching in Canton (near Betty Brown turf) at my friend Macile’s. And Macile said, ‘That oriental girl is good but she shouldn’t be allowed to be skating on the US team simply because she admires what this nation stands for’.
Did you have to drag the Donger into this?
Wir würden nicht zulassen, sie in Schlitterbahn. Wir haben höhere “Standards” New Braunfels, als sie in Austin.
We would not let her in Schlitterbahn. We have higher standards in New Braunfels than they do in Austin
Sorry…My German ain’t that great….but you get the point
